Projecto Pinokio

P.IN.O.K.I.O. (Pupils for INnOvation as a Key to Intercultural and social inclusion) aims at promoting intercultural dialogue against social exclusion, using fairy tale characters as a ‘way’ of communication for pre-school and school children, migrant children and their parents.

In this regard the project is focussed on the development of some of the eight key-competences recommended by the EC as “those which all individuals need for personal fulfilment and development, active citizenship, social inclusion and employment” (Rec.2006/962/EC).

In particular the key-competences addressed in this project and developed through innovative approaches which use children’s stories, ICT tools and creative activities, are the following:

Communication in the mother language;
Learning to learn;
Social and civic competences;
Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship;
Cultural awareness and expression.

European yearly topics will be also used as an opportunity to develop the above mentioned key-competences, and in particular:

2008 – Year of Intercultural dialogue
2009 – Year of Creativity and Innovation
2010 – Year of Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion

Following these themes, P.IN.O.K.I.O. is targeting the following objectives:

- Achieve the Lisbon goals through the development of educational programmes which are focussed on key competences for lifelong learning (Rec.2006/962/EC)
- Improve and develop transversal key-competences in children-students
- Provide pre-school and primary school teachers with knowledge and skills for the development of the key-competences for children
- Develop innovative pedagogic methodologies for teaching key-competences to children-students

P.IN.O.K.I.O. is promoted by the Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi (Italy) in collaboration with other five European partners:

The University of Madeira ( Portugal);
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece);
The Cà Foscari University - Interuniversity Centre of Excellence (Italy);
The Mosaic Art and Sound Ltd ( United Kingdom);
The International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation (Belgium);
SEED –silent partner-(Switzerland);
Officina Creativa Interculturale –associated partner- ( Italy)

P.IN.O.K.I.O. project is co-funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme – Comenius Multilateral Project- for a period of two years (1.10.2009-30.09.2011).

Em particular, as competências-chave abordadas neste projeto e desenvolvidas através de abordagens inovadoras que utilizam histórias infantis, as ferramentas de TIC e as actividades criativas, são os seguintes:

Comunicação na língua mãe;
Aprender a aprender;
Competências cívicas e sociais;
Espírito de iniciativa e empreendedorismo;
Sensibilidade e expressão culturais;

Os tópicos Europeus anuais serão também usados como uma oportunidade para desenvolver as referidas competências-chave, nomeadamente:

2008 – Ano do Diálogo Intercultural;
2009 – Ano da Criatividade e Inovação;
2010 – Ano de Combate á Pobreza e Exclusão Social.

Na sequência destes temas, o projeto P.IN.O.K.I.O. tem como alvo os seguintes objectivos:

- Atingir os objectivos de Lisboa através do desenvolvimento de programas educacionais que se centram sobre as competências essenciais para a aprendizagem ao longo da vida (Rec.2006/962/EC);
- Melhorar e desenvolver as competências-chave transversais em crianças/alunos;
- Fornecer docentes do ensino pré-escolar e primário com conhecimentos e aptidões para o desenvolvimento de competências-chave em crianças;
- Desenvolver metodologias pedagógicas inovadoras para o ensino de competências-chave para as crianças/alunos;

O projeto P.IN.O.K.I.O. é promovido pela Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi (Itália) em colaboração com cinco parceiros europeus:
